Trip overview

This trip is the gateway to discover the roar of the Northern wild of Tanzania. It gives you an experience of the true wilderness. This tour takes you to untamed Tarangire (famous for hosting large number of African Elephants), the endless plain of Serengeti (famous for the Great Migration) and the Ngorongoro Crater (home to the highest density of big game in Africa). A visit to Zanzibar will give clients an experience of idyllic beaches, balmy weather and warm tropical waters; this island is perfect for beach and under-water activities. At the end of the tour clients will fly out of Serengeti to Zanzibar to continue with beach excursion.

Today, after breakfast, we drive to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch, the park is renowned for its large elephant population. Game drives in the park.

Another game drive safari in Tarangire; then later in the day we drive to overnight in Ngorongoro Highlands in Karatu.

[ALTERNATIVELY, we could do morning game drive safari in Tarangire, then spend afternoon at Mto wa Mbu area, where we could do cultural tour- that would include visiting banana/rice plantations as well as walking safari with traditional healers who will explain the medicinal values of the indigenous plants, before arriving at the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early in the morning we will drive to Ngorongoro conservation area which is 30 minutes drive from Farm of Dreams Lodge, after completing all the formalities at the main gate, we will drive to the crater descent gate. Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for game drives in the Crater, exploring the short-grass plains of the crater floor. This extinct volcano embraces 100sq miles alive with lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and many more games.

After breakfast, we drive to Serengeti for a full game drive safari; central Serengeti offers best wild life view throughout the year and also has high concentration of wildlife. Serengeti National Park offers clients an opportunity to see large predators such as Lions, Leopard, Cheetahs in the wild and plenty of animals that range from big mammals like elephants, buffaloes and hippos, eland, giraffe to rodents like mongooses.

On the way to there is options for masai village tour ($60/vehicle) and Olduvai Gorge Museum tour ($36pp).

On day 7 we will drive to North Serengeti in the morning after breakfast. This is where the wildebeest migration is expected to be during this season. We will drive near migration and explore spectacular places in Northern Serengeti.

Morning game drives as we drive to airstrip in the Serengeti (Kogatende airstrip) for a morning flight to Zanzibar (which may stop at another airstrip in Serengeti, Manyara and Arusha before landing in Zanzibar at around 2pm).
